Your immune system is what defines you. It constantly defends your body from invaders that want to move in and take over. When it’s strong and well-regulated, it keeps pathogens out — and eliminates the ones that sneak in.
The immune system has three main components:
1. Barriers – such as your skin and mucous membranes.
2. Defenders – white blood cells that identify and digest invaders.
3. Modulators – substances that regulate immune activity and balance inflammation.
Supporting each of these areas helps maintain a strong and efficient immune system all year round.
1. Supporting the Body’s Barriers
Our first line of defense — the skin and mucous membranes — separates us from the outside world. When these barriers are healthy, they prevent viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi from taking hold. But when our barriers become dry or nutrient-deficient, their protective function weakens.
Nourish from Within
Good nutrition is the foundation of healthy barrier function. Along with adequate protein and fresh vegetables, we need enough healthy oils. In the colder months, we use more of these oils to generate body heat, often leaving less available for skin hydration. This is why we need to eat more good oils in the colder months.
• Summer: about 1 tablespoon of dietary oil twice daily with food
• Winter: about 2 tablespoons twice daily with food
These oils — such as olive, grape seed oil, or Avocado oil — help maintain healthy and supple skin, and resilient mucous membranes in the nose, sinuses, and digestive tract.
2. Strengthening the Attack Force
White blood cells are your body’s “soldiers.” They engulf and digest viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi using compounds like natural peroxides. Through Live Blood Analysis (LBA) in my office, I can actually observe this process — seeing your red and white blood cells in motion and assessing how actively your immune system is working.
Sugar and Suppression
Unfortunately, high sugar intake can paralyze white blood cell activity for several hours, reducing your immune response. Cutting back on sweets during the winter makes a real difference.
Vitamin C: Your Cellular Catalyst
Vitamin C supports the production of immune peroxides and helps your white blood cells destroy invaders efficiently. It remains one of the simplest and most effective immune-supporting nutrients.
3. Balancing and Modulating Immunity
The third part of the immune system is regulation. Your body uses messengers called cytokines — such as interleukins and interferon — to control the activation and calming of your immune responses. Cytokines also balance tissue regeneration, including the healing of joints and tendons.
Ozone Therapy for Immune Balance
Ozone therapy helps to regulate and balance cytokines, supporting both infection control and tissue repair.
• Ten Pass Ozone Therapy: This is where energized oxygen, also known as ozone, is used to treat your blood, enhancing immunity and stimulating dormant stem cells.
• Polychromatic blood therapy acts on your blood with a similar mechanism to Ten Pass Ozone therapy. It stimulates and balances cytokines, as well as supporting your mitochondria. Mitochondria are the sections of a cell where food energy is converted to people energy.
Together, these treatments will strengthen and balance your immune system.
Summary: Protect, Regenerate, Thrive
Your immune system not only protects you from infection — it also governs how well you heal. Maintaining strong barriers, active defenders, and balanced modulators keeps you resilient, energetic, and able to fully participate in life year-round.
